Advance Your Nursing Career in Australia!

Are you an internationally qualified nurse looking to work in Australia? AHPRA's new streamlined registration pathways make it easier and faster to obtain registration, eliminating unnecessary delays. Check your eligibility and take the first step toward your future in Australian healthcare!

What is the AHPRA registration?

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), in collaboration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), regulates the registration of nurses, midwives, and students in Australia.

AHPRA registration for internationally qualified nurses allows nurses trained outside Australia to obtain permission to practice in the country.

To gain registration, internationally trained nurses must meet specific eligibility criteria, including:

✔ Proof of nursing qualifications equivalent to Australian standards

✔ English language proficiency (e.g., OET or IELTS)

✔ Evidence of recent nursing practice

✔ Criminal history and health assessments

The new pathways eliminate the need for the bridging programme, which previously took 9 to 12 months and involved multiple assessments.

Now, eligible nurses can obtain registration in a shorter timeframe, helping them start their careers in Australia sooner!

AHPRA Pathways for registration

The new streamlined registration processes will allow eligible nurses to register more efficiently, making it faster and easier for them to start their careers in Australia's healthcare system.

Check the details in the flow chart provided to help you understand if you meet the requirements of this registration standard.
